Both the 2023 Acura MDX and the 2023 Acura RDX are both jam-packed with performance, design, and technology features that are sure to impress. You really can’t go wrong with either model, but they do have some differences. Gunn Acura of San Antonio is here to walk you through some of those differences and catch you up on what's new in each vehicle to help make your decision easier!

What is the Difference Between the Acura RDX and Acura MDX?

In terms of performance, a V6 engine powers the 2023 MDX, pushing out 290 HP and 267 LB-FT of torque with a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. The RDX offers the same engine for all trim levels, a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo. It has a rating of 272 HP, and it reaches 280 LB-FT in torque. The MDX and RDX both feature a 10-speed automatic transmission with the Sequential SportShift function. Both luxury crossover SUVs include Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. If you have a need for speed, it would be in your best interest to get behind the wheel of the all-new MDX rather than the RDX.

The design of both of these luxury crossover SUVs features jewel-eye LED headlights. The all-new RDX tail lights feature a new Dragon Tail design and LED taillights are optional. Standard on the RDX is a tailgate spoiler with a Gloss Black finish and five-spoke 20-inch wheels featuring the Shark Gray design. To the naked eye, there is not much difference in appearance, it would mainly come down to your preference.

The 2023 MDX offers seating for 7 passengers, while the RDX offers seating for 5. If you have a bit more precious cargo to carry and transport around San Antonio, go for the MDX.

Both the 2023 MDX and RDX both include the all-new True Touchpad Interface technology, allowing multimedia suite access. The 12.3-inch HD Dual-Content Center Display is standard in the MDX model. The 2023 RDX includes a 10.2-inch HD Dual-Content Center Display. Both Acura SUVs have the latest AcuraLink services that are optimized for smartphone integration. If you are looking for a teched-out Acura, the MDX offers a bigger screen, but both vehicles have virtually the same features!
