Acura Maintenance Minder

Acura vehicles are equipped with the Acura Maintenance Minder. Instead of adhering to a maintenance schedule, you’ll be proactively alerted to Acura service codes when your vehicle needs servicing - the system displays a code that’s pretty easy to interpret.

Acura Maintenance Codes

You’ll get three different pieces of information from your Acura Maintenance Minder. First, you’ll get information about how much oil life you have. There are three different codes:

  • 15% - Service Due Soon, Plan to take the vehicle in for scheduled maintenance, 15% oil life remaining
  • 5% - Service Due Now, Take vehicle in now for scheduled maintenance, 5% oil life remaining
  • 0% - Service is overdue, take the vehicle in now for scheduled maintenance

Next, you’ll get an A or B as a main code:

  • A - replace just engine oil
  • B - replace engine oil and oil filter. Also, inspect various systems and components

Finally, you’ll get a numerical subcode:

  • 1 - Rotate tires, check tire pressure and condition
  • 2 - Replace the air filter, check the drive belt, replace the dust/pollen filter
  • 3 - Replace transmission fluid and transfer fluid (if applicable)
  • 4 - Replace spark plugs, inspect water pump and valve clearance, replace timing belt (if applicable)
  • 5 - Replace engine coolant
  • 6 - Replace rear differential fluid
